“For God So Loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”Reverend Frederick Crawford, a native New Yorker of the Bronx. He is the eldest child of Rev. Dr. Fletcher C. Crawford and Mother Arnetta Crawford. He represents the third generation of Pastors at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. His grandfather Jeremiah Crawford was the founder of this great house of God. Reverend Fletcher Crawford served as Pastor at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over fifty year. The torch of leadership has been forwarded to Reverend Frederick Crawford as the new Pastor since 2006. Since becoming the Pastor of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church the congregation has grown and new visions have erupted.
He has been involved in God’s work since an early age with singing on the choir, serving as usher and teaching Sunday school. This great man of God was called at an early age to Preach God’s Word. Reverend Frederick Crawford was ordained under the leadership of Rev. Fletcher Crawford where he became an Associate Minister at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. On 1998 he was ordained as Pastor at First Calvary Baptist Church in Harlem until October 2008. After his leadership at First Calvary Baptist Church he became the Pastor of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church on August 18, 2006. Under his leadership servants of God have joined Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church Sunday School, Bible Study, Prayer meeting, and Spirit of the Sword Biblical Institute. Additionally, other ministries have risen and our Ministerial staff has grown with men and women uplifting God’s word.
His educational background was through our Public School system. Upon his graduation from 1991, he attended Pine brook Junior College, Cooper PA. In 1982 he attended Eastern Mennonite College and Seminary in Harrisburg, PA with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Religious Studies. He attended the Alliance Theological Seminary where he studied intensely with gaining the knowledge of God’s word. Reverend Crawford teaching ability led him to a position as a teacher at New York Baptist Education, New York Leadership School, and Empire Missionary Baptist Congress Youth department. During his undergraduate years of college, he served as assistant to Rev. Calvin Baltimore at First Baptist Church-Harrisburg, PA. During his Assistant leadership at First Baptist Church he served with Evangelism, Prison, and Nursing and Group Home ministries.
His accomplishments as a leader have led him to become a Revivalist and minister throughout the United States and Barbados. Rev. Crawford was the Chaplin of the New York State President of Baptist Ministers evening Conference of the Bronx, New York. He is a member of the Monday and Tuesday Night Baptist Ministers Conference of Greater New York and Vicinity. Rev. Crawford is the recipient of numerous commendations and honors; He received the Religious Community Leader Award in 2007 from the NAACP and Outstanding Community Award in 2008 from the Bronx Borough President.
Reverend Frederick Crawford’s dedicated and committed partnership with First Lady Antionette Crawford and four children Lamont, Shapri, Hezekiah and Chloe. The visions that have led to Union Grove Baptist Church newly anointed Women of Excellence and our Television Ministry have grown to an excellent family union through this marriage.
